KBFC management believes that the fans deserve some big name players ,that might be the reason . The figures that ive heard is a lot less than what goalkeeper mentioned but its not that cheap either . I wouldve wanted them to go for someone like Marcelinho if they had the money to burn.
@shubham_northeastern You really think European football fans will come to Kerala just for Dimitar? Even if a few do come, they will come, see one game, see how bad it is, and that is it. Same hype every season, especially the first season, and look at it. I come from a country that did the same fucking thing! Fuck what European fans think as well, we shouldn't be looking for acceptance or gratification from them.
@ArsenalFan700 not come to Kerala but could queue up for a game in their city.I am not faking it all.I went through reactions... most people(mufc fans) are looking forward to watch him live. And non-regulars to Kochi are willing to attend all home matches.Intensity has gone up by few notches.Admit it!
Though I agree they might not really take much interest in the matches.
@debarghya89 Yay, another old shitty Spanish player!
@shubham_northeastern Ugh, just get ready to be disappointed. Berbatov isn't even the first former Manchester United "great" to come to India. We have already had so many "legendary" players come to India as marquees and we have seen the effect they have brought.
You are right that attendances for Blasters away games might get some increase but that always happens anyway and I already said I wouldn't mind this signing if it was to someone else like Pune City who could use the crowd increase. For Kerala Blasters, this is a wasted signing... not terrible but they could do better.
I think most people here are naive when they see anyone with Age.
There are somethings like experience and the fact they won't like to lose. They get embarrassed when they lose or pissed on someone not pulling up their weight on the pitch.
Not everyone is here to take in a final pay and genuinely want to matter after European clubs have turned their backs on them. They want to get back into the pitch which is like a drug to players who have played at the highest levels and are used to win.
I can see a lot of posters shut up when the performencss keep going up from some of these top players.
Pretty sure the track record of posters judging players here in IFN is pretty pathetic.
There is a budget the clubs have and it's the coaches who want these players so instead of writing off any player just give them the season and see.
till date not a single big name has succeeded in India except for elano who briefly played in Manchester city. all others like pires, postiga, trazugate, del piero etc were big flops the big players come here only for big money before retiring while a younger player will like to impress so he gets a better wages or get a offer from better league. berba and brown are risky players they have not played competitive football for some time they may be not fit and are at high risk of injury and old players don't recover fast.
