@Ashkaul5: not a fair question...did I-League clubs ever have the budget to sign such players? Not doubting the class of these players but remember that Indian players like Baichung and Vijayan also played in IL...their performances IMO were in no way inferior to these foreign players
If we are restricting to only pure attacking players since ISL started then here is my list.
Mendoza was devastating in season 2, he literally was a one man army and made Jeje look like a awesome sidekick. Difficult to replicate that kind of flair, pace and the poaching instinct that he had.
Alfaro does suffer lean patches although brought in decent quality attacking threat in ISL.
You forgot Diego forlan and Elano. Two proper Players who deserve to be called Marquees in their own right they were really good too.
Hume has been extremely consistent and expect him to again score majority of a poor KBFC attacking threat. He is by statistics the top goal scorer in ISL.
Same for Dougtie who was a real threat in the wings to the ATK team he played in. Not really sure about Jamshedpur now though.
Raphael is impotent when the other team pushes against the CFC defense. That makes him play deep where there is no space to spread the ball. He is dominating when the other team defends allowing him to play closer to the strikers. He has had good starts but needs to be consistent throughout the season.
I believe we will have real attacking quality this season primarily from Bengaluru.
Comments
Marcello , Mendoza , Alfaro
Did IL ever had such quality players ?
Which other player do you think can match the standard set by them ?
Raphael Augusto
Mark Sefnios
Thiago Santos
Lumu

How and when did that happen
Fair point .
Udanta is the future of India . This boy is really good
Other than him we have quality goalkeepers .
In defence , sandesh is good .
Oh ! U mean to say sleep ? I only sleep at midnight and wake at Noon
just started playing as a no 10
and dont think he has scored 2 goals in a season before this
