I am wondering though what the exact rule is. It can't be literally that you need a celebrity owner when one team didn't have one for years and another didn't have one either.
I still don't see the relevance of a celebrity owner. It's obvious that the concept is outdated.
Chennaiyin FC will bring in crowd irrespective of a celebrity.
People don't give a damn to Abhishek except for his halftime lungi dance for which bored spectators give him some paisa vassool for the "celebrity" things that he needs to do.
This Bollywoodisation of everything needs to stop.. Hindi movies do not represent all of India & certainly not by these dumbwit actors like Varun Dhawan
Here in India 3 things are famous 1) Bollywood 2) Cricket 3) Politics So if you want some dumb people follow Football. You have to brought some dummy owner from either Cricket fraternity or from Bollywood. May be its sound little weird but that's true. Where football is less popular or doesn't have any following, this kind of dummy owner needed at least for initial 4-5 years.
Places like Jamshedpur/Ranchi (see the HIL crowds, all tickets paid for) will get a great crowd without the bollywood bullshit even in Ileague.....tata's got suckered by IMG into paying the 15 Cr.....there was no need
