They have had their fair share of issues. They might implode. But this is where our Indian football is. U will get corrupt politicians, dodgy business men, profit minded corporates.
Gokulam FC renaming themselves won't change them into angels nor will the league stop from changing.
Get ready for a very bumpy ride for a reasonable Future.
Bharat FC, Pune FC, DSK had real owners, so what? They can't do much with their Indian contingent, hope they get some KBFC reserve squad players on loan. However I truly hope they sign atleast 2 quality foreigners, they have the money, pray they have the will.
@DX those are not at all issues my friend if you follow chitfunds buissiness... It's a regular news happens in chit companies every year... They can't balance their accounts and they pay 1/3 of undisclosed income...and Gokulam have paid it also..nothing much...!!
Sahara Group was/is also like that-shady chitfund, real estate, Media, interest in Sports.
As far as Indian Football is concerned, the clubs owned by more legitimate Business like Mahindra-Automobiles, Mumbai FC-Essel Group has also suffered a lot.
You need owners who can sustain football through solid business and sound financial footing.
Agree Bharat FC had solid background but for every case of A Bharat FC we will find 5 cases of clubs having a dodgy business and wafer thin financial background.
Would rather trust a Mahindra, JSW, Tata kind of companies who can sustain a football club if they are really interested in it.
Gokulam despite the interest and passion is just one or two scams away from being rolled over as a company and the football club will be the first victim
Yes but despite having legitimate business, Bharat FC Mahindra and also Tata, Mafatlal has closed down their Football clubs. Real Estate, Chit Fund, Film Production/Distributor, Owners who promote themselves around celebrities are one scam away from closing down their clubs.
What they need is community or Fan based clubs as a Limited Company and then owners can come and go - buy and sell their shares but the Brand will have value. Even America has Green Bay Packers which is community owned.
