@Deb_Ban You again got me wrong. How stupid someone would be if he said these players are ISL product. ISL started its journey just 4 years back. Who said ISL clubs producing players for national team, Its the people involvement which is important, unless until we involved people with the game how do you believed that India will become a footballing nation, culture important not infrastructure, I can give you tons and tons of example where players come from a poor background without proper infrastructure.
I would again said people involvement is important, sponsor come where people involvement is huge. When people will come to the ground and started to love the game rest will come after it automatically(be it sponsorship, or any other related things). Its a relative process.
Look I don't want to lecture you. You are senior to me. You know it better than me . I just hate generalization. We love to generalize each and everything. That set.
Perfectly said: "ISL is just a niche, insular product detached from the harsh reality of Indian football. It is just a consumer product, not aimed at any viable ecosystem. Compare Thailand football scenario with us to get a real picture. And don't link it to the 'improvement' ( ) of our football."
ISL has increased the interest in younger generation about Indian football but the current performance of Indian footballers cant be attributed to this. Impact of ISL, if any, can only be measured after a decade or so when new generation of players are developed solely under the supervision (if any) of ISL. On the contrary having two league is harming the country's footballing culture. We need to bring the old guard (I league) and the new baton (ISL) on the same page. Until then the condition is not good.
There are two friendly match dates as per FIFA calendar before the start of the World Cup 2018, so out of the 3 matches only 2 will be counted towards FIFA rankings. India has chosen Taipei & Kenya match for the purpose, so the points accumulated in these 2 matches will count.
Is this true? I fear yes, because the fifa site is not showing the other two matches india will play for points calculation, but they are showing those in fixtures.
