Congratulations Guys!!Probably the biggest day for the Indian Senior Team since I have been following Indian Football o.e at least 10-12 years.

Aashique was the best player in the first half for us but Captain,Leader,Legend showed why he is the best Player.

I have always mentioned that our defence structurally has improved significantly and we aour a difficult team to beat.

We absolutely thumped and dominated the Thais in the second half.I can't remember them threatening our goal in the second half at all.

In the first half as well Gurpreet had to make just one save if I remember correctly.

The great thing About Today's  result was that even though people might be surprised but nobody can say that we didn't deserve it.We completely deserved it and quality of our goals was outstanding i.e all 3 goals were brilliant.

Also, apart from progressing to the next round of the tournament,I feel that next step, would be if couple of our players can secure an overseas contract because if Thai players can do it ,then certainly we can do it as well.

Overall,Congratulations to everyone on the forum and to the Boys and to the Supporting Staff.Jai Hind!!!Proud of the Team!!!

Though our playing style may not be a treat to watch.. What made the difference today was we converted our chances to goals which is very very important...Jeje who is not in  good form scored a goal.. Thapa did a good finishing to score the third one... It is very vital to score goals in tournaments like these.. if you have players who can score from not so easy chances, it can make great difference.. Sunil is definitely one of the player who can score goals regularly.. But other players,  Iam not sure... Hoping that in future we develop young players who have good scoring abilities...

NOT GETTING CARRIED AWAY WITH THE WIN: CONSTANTINE

A superb second-half performance where the Indian National Team scored three goals in a 4-1 win over Thailand, led the Blue Tigers to the top of Group A, showcasing the attacking prowess and disciplined defending of Constantine’s men.

Speaking at the Official Post Match Press Conference, Head Coach Stephen Constantine, however, played down the emotion.

“We try to win every match that we play in. We don’t go into a match expecting to win 4-1 or 5-1. However, we are not trying to get carried away with the emotion,” said Constantine.

“We still have two games left and we still need another two points to qualify from the group stages. After we have qualified, we can get a little bit excited but our primary job is still to qualify out of the group stages.

“It is a cliché as it is just another match for us. It is another win that we wanted and have got in the AFC Asian Cup. Tomorrow morning, we train again,” he added.

India are the second youngest side in the AFC Asian Cup with an average age of 25 years. “We gave a good testament of ourselves against Thailand and we are a young side that is capable of a lot many things. People got a taste of what we can do, today.”

Although India started slowly and the game was tied 1-1 at half-time, three goals in the second half left Thailand breathless and stunned. “The main thing was to make the most of our chances and that we did today. I am happy that we are converting from the chances that we are making,” he further said.

“We do start a little slow as the first 15-20minutes can be a little nervous. It was important to not concede a goal in those minutes and that is what we did,” Constantine concluded.
