Dull performance in my opinion by Japan. They happily gave so many opportunities to vietnam. In Semi-finals, they will need to be more attacking as Iran will be more lethal. Cant win all the matches by sitting in the back and absorbing the pressure.
If I remember clearly Almoez Ali was kept well in check by our defense during our u-23 qualifier game against Qatar but then he managed to score from Vishal Kaith's mistake..this was when we lost 1-0 and Manvir Singh had almost scored
btw in my opinion the best coach in Asia is Qatar's Felix Sanchez, whichever Qatari team he coaches, he just manages to take them all the way to the end..under him his u-19, u-23 team's have been phenomenal and now look at the seniors
Thanks man..I just like to track our performances and try not to focus on things like transfers/ISL/agents etc..I used to write a lot on Indian football when I started and hence remember few things better.. Interesting fact: As a kid my uncle took me to the 1996 Durand final vs JCT and Iraqi Oil club and we won thanks to Stephen Abarowei's goal and I became an Indian football fan forever

VAR used twice: once for cancelling a goal by Japan and then for awarding the penalty decision to Japan which ultimately ended in the goal
Even-stevens!
I would call you "great remembrancer", @Ronny.
You have a photographic memory (I have noticed this earlier also when you mentioned Baichung's goals against a Japanese team)
Here is the link of that match and what Ali said about our team

Japan vs Iran in the semis...four-times champion vs three-times champion...mouthwatering clash
I expect Iran to come on top
