Group A : Syria defeated Guam by 3-0, their by qualified for 3rd round (World Cup Qualifier) by topping Group A after collecting max points ( 21 from 7 games). China has 13 points (6 games) after defeating Philippines (2-0)
Group B: Jordan defeated Nepal by 3-0. After this win, they improved their chances of qualifying to third round. Australia is leading this group with 15 points and today, they will bag 3 more points against Chinese Taipei ( after 45 mins leading by 2 goals : 3-0 )
Group C: Iraq defeated Cambodia (4-1) and leading their group with 14 points followed by Iran (12 points). Bahrain (even with 12 points from 7 matches) , 3rd round chances for them are slim now as they lost Iran game (0-3) & Iran is leading Bahrain based on H2H with 1 game in hand
Group D : Saudi Arabia leading their group with 14 points from 6 games followed by Uzbekistan ( will have 12 points after today's game, already leading by 4-0 against Singapore after 87 mins)
Group E: Qatar leading this group with 22 points (8 games) after defeating Oman 1-0 today. Oman currently has 12 points and they have to win against Afghanistan. If not, their chances will be very slim for them to qualify for next round
Group F: Japan qualified for next round after topping this group with 21 points from 7 games. It would be tough for Tajikistan/Kyrgyzstan to qualify for next round WC qualifiers
Group G: Vietnam is leading after having 14 points from 6 games (defeated Indonesia 4-0 today) followed by UAE with 12 points from 6 games (defeated Thailand 3-1 today). Thailand is out of WC qualification after today's loss.
Group H: South Korea is leading this with 10 points after 4 games. Even Lebanon has 10 points after 4 games. But South Korea leading based on Goal Difference. As someone said earlier, Lebanon is very lucky as they lost 5 points against North Korea (with-drawn from qualifiers). Even 1 win (3 points) in next 2 games, Lebanon will be in pole position to qualify for WC 3rd round qualifiers.
Qatar won't play. So 2 in. 10 more places to be filled. 20 teams in contention. Also seems like China will go through. So 11 spots will be available in ACQ 3rd round. 6 groups then. And that means only 2 teams wont make it to ACQ.
6,5,4,3 is the no of goals UAE scored in last 4 matches . Based on the current Form UAE is destroying every opponent in their way . They will beat vietnam easily and qualify as group leaders.
I would like to see Vietnam go through. It's amazing to think that in 2015 their football looked dead and out. Their league was hit by a match fixing scandal and the national team was full of old, expired players.
