There are rumours that the "powerlifter" physio whom Bagan has "extracted'" from Ghana after so much searching & scouting has been only doing weight training & the embarrassing fitness level of the Bagan players at the beginning of the season after doing a month of pre season is attributed to such callous physical trainer!
Although I haven't watched any of the Bagan matches this season so far, but reports say Bagan players are barely walking on the pitch in the last 15-20 mins of a match, and bulk of the goals which Bagan has conceded so far is during this period.
So, its almost certain weightlifter would be gone now and possibly to be replaced by another such joker.
And the coach seems to be interested to interact with the media more than doing something worthwhile so far!
CFL 2019: East Bengal’s match against BSS Sporting Club postponed
East Bengal’s second match of the Calcutta Football League (CFL) against BSS Sporting Club, which was supposed to be held on August 17, has been postponed by the Indian Football Association (IFA).
The Durand Cup committee had urged the IFA to postpone the game after the Red and Golds reached the semifinal of the knock-out competition.
East Bengal will play their semifinal match on August 21 against the winner Group ‘D’ which is just four days after their CFL clash against BSS Sporting. The Durand Committee feared that the Kolkata giants might not field their strongest possible starting XI due to the fixture congestion.
Hence the organising committee requested the West Bengal FA to consider their plea and change the date of the above mentioned fixture so that the Kolkata giants remain fresh before their all important Durand semifinal match.
For the second time this season the IFA has been forced to change their fixture keeping in mind the parallel running of the CFL and the Durand Cup.
Gokulam has a fantastic attacking line while EB defence was in sixes and sevens against BFC B. EB may end up getting hammered. It is a pity that the two best sides of the tourney so far would be locking horns in the semis.
