The seventh edition of the Indian Super League (ISL), in all likelihood, will be held in Goa behind closed doors, tentatively from the last week of November.
Initially the organisers, Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), had Kerala in mind, but later Goa became the chosen venue after taking all logistical and operational aspects into consideration.
“This time, the ISL will be held in Goa. An announcement will be made soon. It suits all the stakeholders (teams, broadcasters, sponsors). Since the league will be played in a bio-secure environment this year due to the pandemic, Goa ticks all the boxes in terms of facilities and grounds,” a source told The Telegraph.
One of the biggest reasons for choosing Goa could be the accommodation factor as there are many boutique hotels where the teams can create their own bio-bubble.
On the contrary, Foreign footballers will be skeptical about corona situation in India and whether it will be safe to come. We are past that thing that Foreigners bring Corona. Look at number of cases in India.
Right now things are worse in India. Players will need to take chance with indian hospitals and so called biobubble. Our sports teams like Hockey and few other got infected.
