Panaji, Jul 7 (PTI) Promoted to the I-League this season, Sporting Clube de Goa has strengthened their squad by signing up Sudanese striker James Moga for the upcoming year.
Sporting Clube de Goa chief executive officer Victor Fernandes confirmed a deal with James.
"Papers for his visa have been processed and he should arrive here anytime after South Sudan''s World Cup qualifier against Kenya later this week," Fernandes said.
Moga will be the third foreign player to sign for Sporting after Kayne Vincent of Churchill Brothers.
The Goa-based club has retained Guinea defender Keita Bouhacar for another season after an impressive showing in the second division I-league.
Moga, who has made 28 appearances for Sudan, will have the honour of leading South Sudan, Africa''s newest country that will celebrate its formal birth on July 9 after they were declared the world''s newest country tomorrow after fighting one of Africa''s bloodiest battles with their Northern counterparts.
James, who started his career with FC Al-Hilal in Sudan, and is presently playing for Muktijoddha Sangsad of Bangladesh, has finished as the highest scorer in the Bangladesh league.
The striker has also donned colours for FC Bani Yas (Abu Dhabi), FC Al-Oruba(Yemen), FC Al-Rams Ras Alkaimah in UAE and FC Al-Merreikh Omdurman in Sudan.
