Don't let the number of passes and possession fool you . While it's true that we are more comfortable on the ball than ever , a simple look at the key passes and shots on target will give you the real story of the match .

4 key passes shows our inability to be creative and create something out of nothing.

4 free kicks and 5 corners. we wasted them and created what one shot at their goal !!!!

Thats why I was saying that against stronger teams, we should utilise such opportunities. silly indirect routines we were trying which didnt materialise.

What stronger trams?? We can't win against BD and AFG also. I doubt if we'll win against even Guam.

We really need to play Sunil and Brandon up front. Brandon is ineffective from the central midfield. Although Brandon made a lot of passes he couldn't exploit the team, more game time is needed for brandon to master that role. Those stats suggest Lenny Brandon and thapa have similar stats but Lenny plays simple passes. Hence higher success.

@7negi ; you can't take anyone who says Chetri out seriously. #ronaldoout

Stimac is actually trying to take shelter in the fact that India is doing well as compared to last WCQs when we had zero points from 5 games! Besides being a graceless fuck who keeps on taking potshots at his predecessor, he is being economical with the truth by not telling the correct context in which India played last WCQs.

Having been reduced to a rudderless unit under Koeverman and raked 173rd, Consti was given the unenviable task of complete rehaueling of the team and to get their confidence back. Stimac got a much better and high on confidence team in comparison. Also India's group last time around was much more difficult then this time - they had Iran, Oman and Turkmenistan besides Guam. Of these the first 3 were much more stronger then India at that time and even Guam with their US based players were at the same level as India, who were ranked 173rd.

This time we had 2 saff level teams in our group and every one thought us lucky to get such an easy group. Everyone thought we had 12 points secured for the campaign and just needed one win against either qatar or oman ro fight for second place. So Stimac hide behind the poor results India had under Consti.

If you read Chetris interview @Chelseafan you would know how incapable the Indian team was to follow Koevermans modern football. Bob Houghton was a League man, follow the league and make the national team play like the league. Woeverman came and tried to teach modern football to Indians but they lacked the technical abilities.  @thebeautifulgame had pasted that article. Consta came in and played a different style of football with workhorses , who ran up and down the wings and central.

Players like Brandon were not picked because they hardly came back to defend and had discipline issues. Narzary was preferred as he fulfilled his defenaide duties.

Consta was effective but could never be a long term plan. The status quo wasn't working.

My personal preference will always be Khalid Jamil, he has seen the scene for too long to not make the right decisions. Give that man a shot.
