It should run upto mid or last week of march, as there'll be world cup qualifier matches and AFC matches in between and of course due to that players need to serve quarantine period (not sure how long though). Taking all these into consideration I believe this ISL should be an extended one.
@thebeautifulgame what's your opinion on the last three rounds of this schedule, where East Bengal is supposed to play 3 matches within 6 days starting from Jan 3rd till 9th?🤔 It's worrisome, given the fact that we lack quality bench strength. That particular week will be testing time for the ISL debutants. What do you think!
FSDL is going to have a tough time scheduling the second half.
AFC matches of Indian clubs will start in Feb. Almost every week in Feb & Mar, atleast one club will have AFC match. 22-30 Mar is FIFA days and there's a chance that AFC will resume qualifiers in that window. They may delay it too till the next window in June in which they can play 4 matches (4 rounds remaining too). AFC have lost an year, but they won't suffer much as 2022 WC and 2023 Asian Cup is postponed by half an year.
Good Analysis. but one more thing is that even though 2022 World Cup and 2023 Asian Cup is postponed by half year, the start of Qualification matches were also delayed by half year I think.
BFC will play in Qualifier Round of AFC Cup, FC Goa in AFC Champions league, Mohun Bagan in AFC Cup Group Stage - Add to that National Teams players from all clubs may be called for a Camp. They have not even kicked a ball together in 2020 !!!
It's prerogative of clubs to have squad strength to manage multiple competitions. I don't see how is this AIFF or FSDL's headache. Apart from Chhetri and Jhinga, no other Indian player pulls any TRP.
