My last memory of him is his scoring the winning spot-kick in the 2016 ISL final. After that, he joined FC Pune City and in a recent interview, blames coach Ranko Popovic for bringing his career to an early end
Such stories really show there should be some sort of medical insurance coverage for all players across all levels. Its disheartening that due to an injury, players are completely ruled out of football. The same is probably happening for Anwar and its not easy to say the least.
Also I believe there should be a sports Medical COE for treating all Indian sportsperson which should be covered through medical insurances and Central Government subsidies. The story does not end in football but the tip in the iceberg. Atleast footballers make money. In other sports field it is even more pronounced.
