Indeed a very impressive performance. Very positive play from Goa. That's the only way to achieve something if you believe in yourself. Each and every tackle mattered to them. They played with fire and passion. Clearly Goa players knew what this game meant to them. It was impressive how every cross was blocked in the dying minutes! It will be difficult to manage this intensity consistently since they are not used to it but I expect good performances from Redeem, Devender,Adil,Amarjit etc as well. Stimac must have enjoyed watching this as and now should not bring in Mashoor or someone untested again. Ishan is not ready yet and was used like Robin Singh today.
@souravindia; Agree with you partly, and who knows, maybe that was part of the coach's strategy too.
At the same time, his sole job is not to help the team defensively. He was the only striker in the team, Ortiz being primarily a winger. There were a number of occasions when he could have done better while attacking or dealing with the crosses
@thebeautifulgame; I agree with you. As I said i was partly impressed with him. He is lacking a lot in attack. There were a few crosses which he should have dealt with much better. The penalty shout was good, but he was in front of the defender and should have attacked the ball and scored.
Good passing accuracy even though it was in their own half. And it was expected that the game would be played mostly in Goan half. But except a couple of clear chances Goa managed managed well in defence
Al Rayyan had players like Yohan Boli (5 year experience in belgian pro league), Y Brahimi ( Portuguese Priemiera league). So definitely a historic performance by FC Goa.
