Jorge Ortiz played as a lone striker in 4-5-1 and he haven't received much support from other players. Whenever he had a ball, we can see 3-4 players surrounding him. Maybe, you are referring 1 or 2 one-on-one missed chances, it's sheer brilliance from Persepolis players and they know how to make tackles and escape fouls.
And in second half, he moved to mid-field ( after Ishan & Bedia changes) . Mostly in next game, Ortiz will be playing anchor role similar to Bedia and Ishan/Devendra/Brandon will play in more advanced role.
The goal we scored is from free kick ( combination of Brandon & Edu Bedia ) and even Brandon missed chance, it's a brilliant pass from Edu Bedia. One shot on target from Redeem Tlang and it's individual effort
Few observations from yesterdays match - There was noticable gap between Indian players and FCG foreigners/Persipolis players in terms of recieving ball, touch, time taken to pass, ability to hold & take it past opponents, availability to recieve pass and decision making.
While lot of these things are corrected or developed during youth we can improve this to certain level by increasing number of matches in ISL so that players are exposed to differnet situations and learn from it, fix the number of days between matches to minimum 5 days so that the coaches can properly implement their ideas, improve players individually and also increase the level of game speed/intensity by avoiding fatigue/getting good rest-recovery.
Despite these shortcoming FCG performed really well against a Elite club like Perisipolis
Probably when Elon Musk gets interested in AFC Cup, we will get to see Mars as venue. Players will be paid with crypto. SpaceX will be transport partner. MoM will get a Tesla. Sounds good.
There was a discussion whether Abahani could play their AFC Cup play-off
match against Eagles Club of Maldives on April 25 in India, but the Sky
Blues do not see any possibility of that happening due to international
flight restriction and crisis over obtaining Indian visas
AFC is likely to hold two play-off matches among Abahani, Eagles and
Bengaluru FC just before the start of the Group E matches in Maldives
(May 14-20)
Perspolis is only team so far which has won all 3 group matches in this season. 9 out of 9 and next best are 3 teams with 7 points each (Al Hilal , Sharjah , Al Duhail ).
Perspolis conceded only 1 corner , that too against Al Wahda in first game. I think Perspolis conceded least corners.
Also so far they have been awarded only 1 yellow card, even that too in first game.
All these stats shows, they are the best team so far. We are considerably played well in last game and I'm eagerly waiting for tomorrow's game.

We will not be playing for another 4 months
Then we shamelessly say Lets Football
