So if 2 teams win or both the matches ends in a draw, how will the first place be decided? Goal difference or goals scored. Or is itvhead to head. I.e if uae and India win, uae takes first place, if Oman and India win- India takes first place - based on head to head. Agan we are left to ifs and buts after 2 games. Same is goin to happen in asian qualifiers.
I do not harbour ill-feelings towards anybody nor do any of us want to see a fellow-member banned but one must remember that one cannot repeatedly abuse others under the guise of criticism. @goalkeepar is not the only one to do these things but he has certainly been one of the most habitual offenders.
Teams are ranked according to points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss), and if tied on points, the following tiebreaking criteria are applied, in the order given, to determine the rankings.
Goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
If more than two teams are tied, and after applying all head-to-head criteria above, a subset of teams are still tied, all head-to-head criteria above are reapplied exclusively to this subset of teams;
Goal difference in all group matches;
Goals scored in all group matches;
Penalty shoot-out if only two teams are tied and they met in the last round of the group;
Disciplinary points (yellow card = 1 point, red card as a result of two yellow cards = 3 points, direct red card = 3 points, yellow card followed by direct red card = 4 points);
This was a very bad loss for us when they were pressing so much for win, should have had attacking players upfront to take advantage of the space and killed the game in counter attack. Again heart break, but this team has talent and I dint believe they are technically weaker than uae, physically weaker yes.
Just hope Oman somehow manages to snatch a point from uae, but that looks difficult for them considering its uae s home game. This is what we should have avoided but we failed.
Take off your best players and loose the match, Rahul Nandy would have better tactical sense than Stimac ! Also if 20-21 year olds cant last 90 mins then they are not 20-21 years old.
Wait a minute....what happens if both the matches end up in draw on final day? Then all 4 teams will end up tied on 4 points each. Then how will it be resolved? Will India have a chance then?

Hope better sense prevails in the forum. Cheers!
