Lachenpa has done well. For years he was 2nd choice keeper behind visual Kaith at Shillong Lajong. Then that club got relegated. Rising from a relegated club of I League where keeping a clean sheet was next to impossible, he has reached a level where he is keeping clean sheet against top Arab clubs is a remarkable turnaround in his career.
That one-year stint in Real Kashmir helped. Only Mohun Bagan conceded less goals than Real Kashmir and it was not because of the defense. Lachenpa was terrific that season and Mumbai City signed him. I remember that I felt it was not a good move because Amrinder was there. Btw, Nawaz's inconsistency and Lobera's departure also helped in his promotion first choice goalkeeper.
I might be a little too optimistic but his confidence makes me feel he will give gurpreet a run for his money. I don't know if Gurpreet has done enough to secure the top spot
Lachenpa needs to be more confident on the ball, he gets jittery with ball at his feet and all of his good work gets nullified with one bad pass, even yesterday there was a moment like that and in the first game too. hope it improves with more game time.
Let's hold our horses. Phurba is in excellent form, but so was Dheeraj in the last AFC Champions League. His performance however dwindled during the ISL.
Abahani Dhaka's Brazilian forward, Dorielton, who was injured, failed to make it to the sqaud.
Costa Rican World Cupper Daniel Colindres and recently signed Bosnian forward Nedo Turkovic are playing, along with former Chennaiyin and BFC player Raphael Augusto
