How many saw the match test? Second half from mumbai fc was awesome though they faltered in finla third. I guess we had around 68-70% possession in second half which is a surprising statistics in context of Indian football, and not to mention at one time we were playing with 9 Indians in the second half. So kudos to Mumbais efforts which shows we can not only just defend and loose by 2 goals but can also attack and fight and try to churn out results our way.
The last 25 minutes was all Mumbai. Again goes on to show that if you play with a good attitude and confidence then even big teams can falter against you
Yes but the problem still remains we have not scored from open play. With all that attacking intent. Mumbai can't seem to convert those into chances. Even shots on target from open play is almost nothing. Hope we improve on that. That is the only way we can win more games.
We need Indian players to take cracking long rangers not cricket sixers..only Liston can do that right now against weaker opposition lol..Amongst the juniors Komal Thatal used to score like that. I believe Rahul KP has that capability too
Shows what a joke the difference in competitiveness is in the the East and West zone.
China has been sending youth teams due to covid. Japanese teams dont always send their full strength teams. There are many clubs from weaker leagues like Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, HK
And we know that Australian clubs do horribly in the ACL too.
Is there ever going to be a solution to this East-West divide?
The west is way too competitive. Saudi, Iran, UAE, Qatar, Uzbek, Iraq etc are better than these teams anytime. I feel we are lucky to be playing in the west. There is no other way to make progress
Basundhara have signed 21 year old Brazilian attacking midfielder Miguel Figueira for AFC Cup.. Already played 25 matches in Brazilian Serie A. Will move to Portugal top division after his stint in Bangladesh.
