New signing Ajaraie looks impressive. Guillermo was benched and the way he took his first touch from Nestor was the best moment of the tournament so far.
BTW, Guillermo's goal against Indian Army too was fantastic. NEUFC might be one of the dark horses of the ISL this time. So can Chennaiyin; they have signed a number of promising youngsters and some proven goalscorers like Wilmar Jordan Gil and Chima Chukwu and most importantly, have a stellar coach in Owen Coyle who knows how to bring the best out of his players
As I said, NEUFC has developed into a fine team under the stewardship of Benali. They have signed two very good foreigners in Guillermo and Ajaraie who will find ample support from the likes of Jithin, Parthib Gogoi and Phalguni Singh. Gurmeet Singh, who saved two penalties today, is also fast maturing...definitely a team to watch out for this season
It's about time the national coach takes a look at Parthib and Jithin. They play fearlessly under Benali. I'm sure barring the physique they will do well if given opportunities against less physical teams. Jithin has got loads of creativity in final third and is an unselfish player. One of most underrated footballers from Kerala now.
