Worse than complete humiliation, it was abject surrender!!.

The entire team is in shambles...they can neither run, cross, pass or defend for love nor money.

I have been following the fortunes of EB since the late 80s, but I can't remember such a pathetic team ever.

Did the height do it? Anyway, this is a new low for the club.

Only we Indians have hyped up our Bengali teams so much. Barring one team the other 2 has been horrible. Even in our ISL thread we said 6 derbies as if the non Kolkata clubs don't matter. This derby the stadium was not even full.

This EB team is out there to insult our country. Who knows if they play Kashmir University they might lose to them as well. Not sure what Kool Aid the management is drinking. I hope EB gets relegated and fix themselves up before thinking about playing in top tier.

@giridharan: I completely agree with your assessment of the present EB team, but I have never tried to imply, whether in the ISL thread or elsewhere that 'non Kolkata clubs don't matter'.

When I started creating the ISL and I-league threads, I have usually tried to put a sub-title in those threads, something which would be the distinguishing factor of that particular season. So, when the ISL was played in a bio-bubble in 2020-21, I used the sub-title "New Expectations, New Challenges" while when it was played without the bio-bubble in 2022-23 I used the sub-title "Bye Bye Bio-bubble, Welcome Back, Fans". This year I used the sub-title "Three Kolkata Giants, Six Legendary Derbies" because it was a fact that the three Kolkata clubs were participating in the ISL for the first time and I could not think of any other suitable sub-title. There was no intention on my part to hype the Bengali teams or denigrate clubs outside Bengal.

If members think that such sub-titles are offensive or give a wrong impression of the football scenario in India, they are always welcome to create their own threads, with or without sub-titles.

I know you don't mean it. That is why I said 'We'. We give too much attention to them more than other clubs and it is disappointing.
