Hector Yuste is not the best of signings for EB. He's too slow even when he joined MB he struggled against quick forwards
I don't understand why he was signed. This was known beforehand
MB signed him as a cover. Not sure why EB was so enthusiastic to sign him is the question lol
Fraud Cuadrat signed him for cut money. Also he wanted to play that same obsolete low block style which was exposed badly. EB will replace Yutse and Cleiton in January. Oscar won't be renewed whatever is the standing at end of season unless he can spring a surprise in AFC.
ππ‘ππ¨π₯π¬ π¨π£πππ§π: Roy Krishna will be out for the remainder of the season due to an ACL (Grade 3) injury sustained during the game against Hyderabad FC.
From the highlights, it seemed that FCG GK Hrithik Tiwari had a good game...made a number of saves.
The coach also praised him:
Marquez, speaking about the young keeper who recently stepped into the starting lineup, was full of praise.
βHe was the third goalkeeper last season and when we finished the season, we spoke that he has to go one step forward. And you never know, you have to be ready. You have (Laxmikant) Kattimani in the squad, we have Lara Sharma still injured and then Hrithik is showing he is ready to play in ISL and he is playing very well. He has a very good thing about a goalkeeper, that he is very calm,β he said.
East Bengal beat Chennaiyin FC 2-0, courtesy an opportunistic strike by PV Vishnu and a belter of a shot by Jeakson Singh.
A game of two halves: CFC were the dominant side in the first half, as Oscar Bruzon had said, Connor Shields with his physicality and speed constantly troubled the EB defence, especially Provat Lakra. Chima Chukwu missed two easy chances to put his side ahead, EB seemed particularly sloppy in going forward and hardly troubled the opposition defence.
The second half witnessed a different EB side; they took the lead in the 8th minute and did not let the opposition play their usual game. In spite of losing Saul to injury and the substitution of Diamantakos early in the second half, the team stuck to its task admirably. Coyle tried his best, throwing in Wilmar Jordan Gil, Vincy Barretto, Gurkirat Singh and Kiyan Nassiri but the EB defence held strong.
I guess this was the strategy of Oscar Bruzon, weigh the opposition and soak in the pressure in the first half and take the attack to them in the second half. EB have kept a clean sheet in the last three matches and are undefeated in their last six matches (three ISL games and three AFC challenge Cup games). The coach has said that he would be able to tell whether EB has any realistic chance to qualify for the playoff only after December, with his team to play three home games and one away game this month.

After a somewhat lacklustre start to the season, FCG slowly seems to be finding its groove

Their squad is so mediocre , anything more than a top 10 finish would be a surprise .
