What will be their future regarding national team? Also why and how long will foreign clubs pay them and keep on bench at U-18 or when they are 23, 25 or 28 years old? If they cannot make a mark in India, it is futile to hope for anything abroad. Bench or training stunt is only good up to a level - can't depend on that entire life.
They will be in a youth academy under much better coaching and infrastructure then they could ever hope to get in India. The best players from this team MUST go abroad.
Its simple really, if you see yourself playing top level football in the future don't come here. If you want to make money and treat his as a job, sure why not.
I have big doubts if these players are good enough for top tier football anywhere. If they dont get out of group stage in the WC more money shouldn't be wasted on this batch but focus should be on continuous development of younger age group batches. Our players must qualify for AFC events atleast on merit, that's the first goal.
However if they do perform well in the WC, then more foreign exposures, consistently playing competitive matches should continue. Their goal should be to qualify for U20 WC on merit.
These boys have a chance to be part of a core group for 5 years!!!2015-2020.
You won't get that kind of time anywhere in modern football not has any of our previous batches ever had this kind of exposure.
Point is we got into 2017 basis hosting it. But needs to qualify in 2020 else it's a massive chance to change Indian football wasted.
I think the decision of allocating our's match in delhi is quite unfortunate. so many days have gone yet the ticket is available on the site. If it was allocated in Kolkata or Kerala or Guwahati the scenery would be different. Actually we gonna loose the home advantage.Feeling quite upset. Hope delhi people will rise on time.
