@shanks_dehighliving There was a time when Facebook membership was possible only if you are a student of University which has been given membership/invitation to join Facebook and you will need to join and sync it with your official University student email address. Then slowly High schools and company employees were added. I am talking about 2005 2006 period.
It was open for general public with valid email address much later on.
