whats the point of hosting u17 world cup.As of now,new new stadiums going to build.Even no football specific stadium. What we are going to have the same old cricket stadiums. After renovating it,get back to play cricket. What a joke yar.So most importantly cricket is getting benefit even though football is taking place...I hoped a lot when FIFA granted us the event. But now i feel so sad.
@shakkeerKM They are not all Cricket Stadiums. Salt Lake Stadium, JLN Chennai, Sree kanthareeva bangalore, JLN delhi, Indira Gandhi Guwahati are all multipurpose stadiums where Athletics and other events can be hosted as well as football. Fatorda Stadium has not hosted Cricket for a long time now. Only JLN Cochin and D Y Patil Navi Mumbai are regular in Cricket. Across the world, you will see World Cup Football as well as UEFA Champions league games in mumtipurpose stadiums which have athletics track. Check out the stadium where this year UEFA Champions League is going to be played.
Multipurpose is not bad as long as they're renovated. Football-specific would be nice in the future for clubs if they want all the revenue and control of matches.
