We are not even sure which age group team we played agains and some people have started hyping things up for no reason. Let them play as much possible, gel as a team and have fun as much as possible. We should just be happy that they are even getting my such opportunities. Results shouldn't matter right now.
Based on wiki which is not always the most reliable source source; SSV Jahn Regensburg are the Under 15 Bayernliga winners for 2014-2015 season. They then get promoted to under 15 Regionalliga Süd which is the highest tier for southern Germany.
Why compare with Bayern Munich? Is that a fair comparison? You are not being rational here. Those guys have good youth systems running and their kids train since 7-8 yrs old. What do we have here at max? Players training for past 2 years. That's what we have. Surely not a rational comparison.
Having talent and grooming talent with proper training is different. Someone needs to play competitive football a bit to understand the difference. I did an experiment couple of years back with help of my friends who stay in Ireland.
We spoted 10 boys of 7 - 10 years age in my locality. Full with enthusiasm and no idea about how to push a ball or receive it. We didn't tell them any thing but let them play for a week. Then we asked them to juggle the ball. They managed to juggle 4 - 10 times (avg) without knowing proper technique of juggling a ball. Then we showed them the technique and within 4 - 5 months they started juggling the ball 15 - 35 times without dropping.
Simultaneously we requested our friends who stay in Ireland to enquire about any local football club where 7 - 10 years boys are getting trained. After searching(reluctantly but I forced them like a rude boss) few of local clubs they came back with this data -
5 - 10 years age Irish boys - juggling skill 1 - 4 (avg) for first few days
Same boys after having training for 6 months - 50 - 100 times juggling without dropping.
Just see the difference between initial potential and a 'would be product' after having proper training. There is no doubt a 30 years Irish guy knows better technique than me or my friends to train. And just imagine with better food / equipment / gym and physic inherited, where these Irish boys will be when they will reach 16 - 18 years of age. That gap will be huge and unrecoverable.
Don't worry guys...#ISL/#IMG have come and we will be the best in the world in no time. We have to trust the extremely detailed and foresighted development plan which the visionary AIFF leadership has mapped out. Sachin has just helped KBFC open a football school in Kerala and rumour amongst my Malyali friends is that the next Messi is being trained there. The amount of knowledge being imparted in the weekend programs will shame the likes of Bayern Munechen being talked about in the forum. Infact Nita is so passionate about the development of football, she has herself given prizes to the most talented and underprivileged kids (they have also been shown on TV receiving prizes from Nita and Salman). I feel with so much effort being put by the visionaries in #AIFF/#IMG, it is only a question of a few years before our U15 will comfortably thrash the U19 of Barca/BM etc....
