Fsv u16 team hasn't played at u17 bundesliga for the last 2 years; they basically play at their regional level U16 league - U16 B-Junioren Gruppenliga Frankfurt
Yes the aiffmedia hypes things and some fans get overly excited with these games and their results. It is just a exposure trip; first one the team is really spending reasonable about of time with the new coach and playing games at regular intervals. Treat it like one rather than making it look like some competitive tournament. That starts with the AFC u16 qualifiers. Some fans forget that after all they are 14-15 years old, don't need to put unnecessarily pressure on them.
From my point of view, I don't give much importance to these results. I am just looking forward to watching them play during the AFC u16 qualifiers later this year; hope they have live telecast for the same.
if AIFF dooesn't hype up these exposure trips, then fans won't shout about them as well. the whole thing is basically AIFF hyping up these achievements, aided by some influential social network pages
I, on the contrary feel the boys must be put under pressure! They must know the national team jersey needs to be earned and carried with respect. If they can't perform they will be kicked out into oblivion of football pithole. Kids of their age have pressure for good exam results why national team players be koochi kooed? Else these talented kids will just become like the current NT setups, losing to Guam or Bhutan and becoming man of the match in fixed ISL games.
As they say, smooth seas never made a good sailor.
Let us give #AIFF and #IMG time to change Indian football. It is too early to comment (as most IFN veterans have been saying). There will be minor hiccups always but we will beat Brazil in the final of U17 WC final in India.
Don't forget you are getting a lot of grants to upgrade your old runaways at the 6-8 airports where the jumbo jet would be landing in 2 years time. Knowing the past these contracts can be given to "the correctly connected bidders" and runways will remain the same with some bulbs changed and a fresh coat of paint. So the pilots and the 787 jets are incidental to this game. Except us to host more such jets in future.
I disagree with this pressure cooker theory. If you don't know when to stop applying heat you will eventually loose it all. If pressure is everything to get success, then our Kolkata clubs should have own each and every title, their players should have been superior because they are under constant pressure from club, huge supporters. That is not the case. Look at success of BFC, they had avarage players ( some are even rejected in that sense ) they had no pressure of achieving this and this, they concentrated ,trained well, rectified themselves and became the eventual winner. That is the secret of success. Brazil lost to Germans by huge margin doesn't make them inferior. it is the pressure which played a part. At a tender age of 15 you need mental support , care and good training not threatening.
@footydip agree with you. It is the #AIFF which needs to be put under serious pressure for not having a semi decent development setup, when we can't even compete in SAFF with the shitloads of #IMG money and FIFA/AFC/Govt grants.
You can't have NT teams becoming the but of jokes without any responsibility. The youngsters are trying their best I am sure, but the fans anger is justified.
Someone at #AIFF needs to answer for this crappy performance.
