Oh, and as for me supporting Dodsal... I would rather see that shameful club fold to dust than join the I-League. The club have no decency. They are in it for the glory and fame they would get if they single handedly used their black money to help Indian football become an Asian power.
Don't get me wrong. I want Indian football to become a force in Asia and the World but I would rather do it the right way than through an organization that thinks that they are to good to even get into the I-League the proper way (even if I dont like that way).
I would rather see Indian football grow organically. More emphasis on youth development, more emphasis on professionalism, more emphasis on long-term plans. Proper structure in league and stadiums. Proper marketing of the game. The right deals with the right corporates when the chance arrives.
I would rather see the AIFF step up and encourage the clubs to build Academies, work on youth, bring in better foreigners, market the team, and build on infrastructure.
As for league. I would rather do what Japan did. No pro/rel. Have a 10-12 I-League and let the clubs develop for a few years before we have the funds to build a proper 2nd Division.
I mean look at the shameful desease. 25 clubs. 5 from Kolkata. 7 from North-East India. 4 from Maharashtra. 8 from Delhi, Bangalore, Kerala, and Orissa. 1 from Goa.
And how many of these clubs are actually professional and will help increase the quality of Indian football on the pitch and off it. None of them. We will replace shit with shit.
No wonder IMG want to build a new franchise league because this is just useless.

You mean that Aussie who begged to join United Sikkim, Salgaocar, and Mumbai FC via facebook. He looked shit in the video's he sent as well. The rest are good. Babatunde is a good signing. Emmanuel scored 7 goals in one match (or he could be someone else).
@ ArsenalKid. No doubt you have good intentions and I respect that. However whilst noting your valuable contributions to various pages, it would also be good if you actually understand the ground realities of Indian football. It is one thing to clamour for academies and youth development - it is quite another to have it executed when you actually have administration at the top that fails to stick to what they say. You have seen what has happened in the case of Mohun Bagan. But for you to actually talk about black money and the so called "professionalism" from the I-League clubs smacks of ignorance to a certain extent. You think that because a corporate owns/backs a club things would change overnight? No football association in this country has a documented plan for youth development. Dodsal has a majority Indian staff - things are not going to change drastically because of a massive budget and a foreign CEO. What have they done for youth development? It is a fact that football is concentrated in Bengal, Goa and now the North East - but that is because people there have taken the trouble to ensure that competitions exist!!! You can't fault the clubs for having ambition especially when you really have no clue as to how they operate. Perhaps it would be quite beneficial for you (as I have asked earlier) to put forth your definition of "professional". If its replacing "shit" with "shit" then perhaps you are better off not following the game in the country. Michael.
Let me get this straight. Based on your definition of me, I am calling for this...
By 2014 all 14 I-League clubs should have Academies while playing in stadiums that are the same quality as the Emirates Stadium. Also Dodsal will lead the way with that advancement as they have all this money and will surely turn a risky market like Mumbai into a goldmine of football frenzy fans.
India will then host the U17 World Cup in 2017, and like Japan/South Korea after the 2002 World Cup, India will see a huge increase in the quality of our play and we should qualify for the World Cup in 2022.
After that India will continue to become a power before winning the World Cup in 2026 under our new coach, Baichung Bhutia.
Lol. Fair enough. The points put forth in your argument confirms my doubt on your knowledge!! "By 2014 all 14 I-League clubs should have Academies while playing in stadiums that are the same quality as the Emirates Stadium". OK!!!!! "After that India will continue to become a power before winning the World Cup in 2026 under our new coach, Baichung Bhutia." Awesome!!! Reminds me of Dino Morea's famous statement 2 years back of India qualifying for the World Cup in 5 years. Good going pal. All the best. India will certainly squash all opposition at this rate. And to think I actually thought the AIFF administration was poor - they have such good competition here. P.S.: You are an Arsenal fan I think. Atleast respect our club before making such preposterous statements. Your contributions do not equal research!!!!
Anyway in all seriousness. I just found this on the Green Valley FC wikipedia page. If this squad is true (which it is not, I am just to sleepy to revert the vandalism) then Green Valley will win the I-League 2nd Division easy:
@MichaelSouza Wow. Thanks. That means a lot. I am sure you can probably get me a job at the AIFF so I can change the system around. Obviously you will need to send them a picture of me first so here is a picture of me from the christmas party I attended last year...
