Shame!! on you ONGC for protesting and accepting three points which r not rightfully yours, no sportsman spirit!!!. Aiff, ITS NOT JUST ABOUT "rules", its about delivering judgement in the game's true spirit.

Welcome to the world of "Expansion" where instead of putting teams in I-League through promotion (which results in horrible marketable teams in the league) you instead expand the league by selecting who you want in the league and thus dont cause controversy (well major ones at least) and you can make sure the club you select is focused on marketing there brand and selling there on field product.

While I too support RWFC and wish they qualify, I do not agree that AIFF should be ashamed of what they did. This is professional football we are talking about. One can't be lousy and expect to be forgiven for the mess. Rule is a rule. RWFC should blame its management for whatever happened.
Imagine RWFC making similar mistake in Champions League, do you think AFC will leave them free?

@ somesh, agreed, but why is aiff having different applications of the rules for differnt clubs, Sikkims baichung was supposed to be penalised for misconduct in the preliminary round, whats happened to that??? Swept under the carpet by aiff Why??? Stanly rosario committed the same four foreigners mistake a couple of years ago in a KFL match betwn East Bengal and Md sporting, and the protest was referred to aiff, ac action taken except, a show cause notice issued to the coach . Not to mention Goan club owners going to the referees room and roughing them up. So why isnt the same yardstick used for all clubs. Aiff has no right to demand professionalism if it itself behaves far from it, also Somesh if Royal were to play it by the book and took on the aiff , rwfc should not be penalised, as aiff in the 2011-2012 2nd div rules mistakenly did not mention the three players on the field rule which they had specifically mentioned in the federation cup and i league rules and regulations.??? What Say you Somesh?????

Well I have one thing to say- If you have done mistakes in the past, it doesn't mean that you should keep on repeating them. I am not an advocate of AIFF, neither do I know about the incidences you mentioned.

As far as the complaint against Baichung is concerned, it was mere an allegation as I know. So if tomorrow MDSC says that you guys bribed, would you want to be penalized. You have to bring evidences!

You can see from what @mizo provided us with in AIZAWL FC thread. The AIFF has sent a letter to the clubs for not issuing such frivolous statements.

I agree there are still a lot of favoritism there in AIFF.
