Punjab is very important supply line of talent for Indian Football.Really will be a huge loss of talent.
AIFF have to fix this at any cost, should find corprates to create a new club in Punjab or else Indian Football will be one arm less.
Last year Mahindra United and this year JCT..
Even Goan clubs have financial problems..
The day will come when only wealthy Bengal clubs will play in I-league..

Not even them when they inflate salaries even further.
2 crores + other luxuries for Odafe and 1.5 crores for grandpa Beto, what kind of joke it this ?? They are making life hard for other Indian clubs by increasing rate of mediocre foreign players.
This is a big blow to Indian Football. Hope JCT re-consider their decision. The passionate Indian football fans are passing through a very bad phase. Yesterday we lost to Qatar & today we lost one of the greatest club in Indian football. Is there anybody who has sympathy for the sentiments of the Indian football fans.
we need franchise system in india in soccer, make it something companies want to buy
Spot On there, need a good balanced league like MLS which can ensure long term stability. If its not done soon then I fear for Indian Football survival.
I'm going to write a article on this issue,in last 1 year club football has been huge down-fall in India.
they need to develop 2 tier league system
northern india,
southern india
east and west
so that travel cost will be small and rivalries can develop
then on top of that have a I-league
Fuck you AIFF. I say we need to start afresh. We need a new league in terms of jleague and mls. To keep a bit of tradition aiff needs to buy out the rights of Durand Cup(2nd oldest tournament of India). Rest of the tournaments are to be made defunct.

You can't start afresh every 3 years! AIFF just needs to make a viable 2nd division so that teams don't disband when they get relegated. They need to sign a TV coverage deal asap, find ways to decrease the costs for teams to run (there are synergies in things like insurance, medical care, transportation, etc that the league can get if they coordinate it for all teams), and above all, market it to the urban rich who can afford to spend big money to attend sports and who sponsors want to target with their marketing efforts. Wholesale changes have been made in the past and haven't helped. Step by step changes are what will work.
Hey Pedro ileague was nothing else but a mere name change of nfl. that was not a fresh start in my book. i am saying of a franchise system like mls(single ownership)+ Jleague membership criteria. no club other than pune fc from ileague will be allowed in the new league.
