An article in Forbes India titled "Passion Play in Kolkata" - It takes a chronological trip (very short of course)... good for people who want to take a quick look of the things...

P.S (very imp.) - I have NOT shared this article to prove Kolkata as mecca or Kolkata more superior to other states in football.

another P.S - love the yagna pic shown in the article done by passionate fans to pray for Maradona

India was all set to face South Korea in Jakarta Asian Games. Indian contingent had been subjected to jeers and barracking from home fans throughout ’62 Asian Games. With India’s first choice goalkeeper out with illness, Pradyut Burman, from Eastern Railways FC, had been in exceptional form throughout the tournament. Rahim saab wanted to replace Burman in the final and bring back India’s first choice ‘keeper, despite of concerns about his fitness. He insisted that the 6 feet 4 inches custodian’s physical dominance would make a difference against Koreans. Like most of the times, Rahim’s stubbornness won in the end.
