In those days India was one of the superpowers in Asian circuit and also eked out some memorable results against European teams. One of India’s biggest strengths in those days was a dynamic forward line of PK Banerjee , Chuni Goswami and Tulsidas Balaram, three musketeers of Indian football, players whose names were chanted with almost religious devotion. Banerjee and Goswami went on to become acclaimed football personalities after leaving the game but the third musketeer faced only rejection and humiliation. This is the story of Tulsidas Balram, a tragic hero in Indian football.</span>

Yet, it was these three gentlemen who spearheaded the spread of the game among the natives in India. If not for them we would never have Indian football as we know it.</span>

Some rare photos included. At the end you will also find a list of football tournaments in India. <br>Dhritiman, also talks about how with proper planning and guidelines, many of these tournaments can be incorporated in the present football calender and why it is important and how they don't hamper with normal football development of India.
