if i have to pick two teams to get relegated then that will be the two most controversial teams prayag united and chirag united, because these stupidity by owners to change the names of club didnt done any good for either their club or for indian football.....all that resulted was confusion among the newcomers of which club plays in which part of country......
and for all your information guys, air india and hal is gonna be playing their last season as they are yet to fulfill the professional club criteria....
this would mean we shall get rid of many teams with no vision to be replaced by some nice clubs from north east(usfc, royal wahingdoh) and may be from north and south too....and please no more clubs from kolkatta, goa

Well actually I believe that HAL S.C. will get there licensing criteria done before the next deadline. Air India I have no hope for. To be honest the reason I hate them is mainly there name. Why can't they just be Mumbai United or something like that and have Air India be the official sponsor and owners. They would gather more support that way but you know what who cares.
Meanwhile Chirag United Kerala are just a mess. We don't even know what stadium they plan to play in really. Also there owners are really shit. We should really be past owners like this.
Prayag though I believe are legit. They already know what they will do and so far from what I have seen are showing real professionalism.
I cant understand why a few members at IFNF are jealous of the success of Goan & Kolkata teams.
we are not jealous of goan or kolkatta teams....we want a pan-indian league with talent from every part of country option to play for their home team in top tier.....i would be happy if teams like salgaonkar /churchill brothers/dempo could merge with their own local team like vasco/sesa goa/scg and name the clubs after a particular region...which would mean 3 quality teams representing goa with some decent fan-base too...other than current scenario where 4-5 teams in top tier with only 1-2 teams getting the fan support.........and in kolkatta , we are happy with 3 teams...... you want more than 3 teams frm 2 cities or a purely national league....
all i am wanting is a national league with top footballing cities like kolkatta , goa having max of 3 teams....which will mean 8 spot in league of which 2 from Maharashtra, 2 from south,2 from north, and 2 from north east.....dont you think this league sounds better....this league will provide us with talent exposure from every part of the country....doesnt this league sounds good, if the league is getting larger still i would want clubs from new regions to come rather than same dominant places of india.....what you guys feel about it?? <!-- s:think: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/eusa/think.gif" alt="" title="Think" /><!-- s:think: -->

It is Quality not quantity or place which matters. If clubs from other regions are capable enough to earn their place in I League so be it.I don't like the idea of bringing in quota system to feel proud about span of I League across India at the cost of quality.
how you expect the clubs from different region to improve, if there is no proper league happening in their state the way it is held in kolkatta, goa or mumbai.....and there is no full season lower tier league where they could play and improve as a team on basis of talent growth or facilities....
the example being royal wahingdoh who having played i-league 2nd div recently were able to show their real talent in federation cup.....this is what happens when best facilities are given to whole country rather than few cities or states
First things First.. Here is my list of possible winners. a person with decent knowledgeabout indian football wont be having that much trouble in stating that KEB and Salgaockar are the two strongest of them to win this year's I league..
However Personaly i think this time around it would be Kingfisher East Bengal..Their bench strenght is far far superior than Salgaockar..
salgaockar have a solid attitude towards the game, but they would be found wanting if 1-2 critical players like chidi, sueoka or francis fernandes get injured.. This time again it should be a tough one between these two teams...
Dont ever count out Dempo and Churchill Brothers they both are a class act and have been there done before.. frankly the dempo squad is a bit ageing in defence with gawli, naik, there 2 best players..so they could be having trouble to keep up the pace with the younger lads.
Churchill on the other hand have talented players like lenny ,ralte, balaan, mundampara to name a few.they just need to get mature and churchill wont ideally be torubling the top two this time around ..
Mohun bagan.god knows what has happened to them ..I watched them playe against royal wahnigdoh at Puen and though my colleage team would also would hae given bagan a run for the money..Forget winning matches.. Where is the defence mr Mitra..who u have in defence..this is the one club of which everyone needs to be critical.. only cashing on odafa an chettri wont guarentee u tropy as mos of the defenders in the I league have learned to mark the nigerian and once marked Odafa is found wanting in his ball passing skills.
The next group is the most entertaining one and can be termed as dark horses in real sense for the title.. PFC,Prayag united and Shillong Lajong.
PFC has become very stroong by bringing back chika wali,Douho Pierre and Jeje back..They really rattle the oppoenents at home and are also handfull in away matches. i think with arata, lester and the super sub Subhas singh ,PFC is gonna make waves this time around in the I league..Add into that the match against blackburn and the crowd support they recieved ..they are gonna give nightmares to team like KEB,salgaockar,Dempo.
Shillong Lajong is the most entertaining team in the I league for me ..their youthfull arrogance while playing the passing football is a treat to wathch.. They need one good foreigner at the back as the guys really lack in height.
Prayag united have currently the best midfielder in the country .lalkamal bhaumick..he should be in the indian team and i dont know why he wasnt in the AFC Asian Cup. sanjoy Sen is a shrewd tactician and will cause one or two upsets..the kolkata teams would be vary of them ..they also have a good fan base ..
Palian arrows as always be entertaining and will give a good account of themselves ,they would stay above the relegation battle zone.
rest 5 teams are the weak links with Sporting,MFC,Air India,HAL, and chirag Kerala.
I think Chirag Kerala and sporting Clube have a little bit extra quality in them to avoid relegation..
MFC ae gonna struggle Big time this around as they have made no major or minor signings..their strategy would be playing out a defensive game and look for points..they would do well in teh first half of teh season and will avoid relegation by the skin of their teeth.
HAL and Air are possibly be gonna relegate this year.however air india have the uncanny ability to spring in a surprise at the End of the seaoson. They have avoided the relegation same ways in the last 2 editions.
So my list of the teams in the finish order.
1)KEB
2)Salgaockar.
3)Pune FC
4)Dempo
5)Churchill Brothers..
6)Shillong Lajong
7)Prayag United
8)Palian Arrows
9)Mohun Bagan.
10)Sporting Clube de goa
11)Chirag Kerala
12)Mumbai FC
13)Air India

the previwev for the season is almost correct but sporting and mfc might spring in some surprises
