New Market XI had one of the best squad this Classic Cup. scoring a phenomenal 28 goals in 5 matches and conceding just one, their team consisted of some of the best players of NPL, including Velukho (barak) Kenei (Barak) Victor (Naga Tornadoes) Rhiisto Mero (NT) Vekuto (Life Sports) Tsira (NT) Stephen and Asilie (Komets) amongst the star studded teams. Personally I was hoping they would bring this squad into the NPL. Those mentioned above had received best players award etc in many tournaments and they went out to Komets through penalties only.

Check out the photos here

There were so many people that there wasnt a place to stand. and many spectators claimed it to be one of the best matched they ever saw including european leagues. In fact, so many fans rushed into the ground and it was filled with people after the match.

We hope that this will continue in the NPL, but sadly we need teams like Life Sports and New Market with a huge fan base to make this happen.

Drinking beer, daru etc after every win ..this is how every league in NE like Arunachal, Nagaland, Assam etc goes on..thats the reason they fair so poorly in santosh trophy or any other national competition.

important to kick off simultaneously at Mokokchung, Dimapur and Kohima
