"I resigned because I would be unable to work with a technical committee. I wish the players well for the season and thank them for their efforts," informed Darby via a text message."
Mohun Bagan football club today accepted the resignation of coach Steve Darby and appointed former Nigerian footballer Bernard Operanazie in the Englishman’s place.
Bernard was working as an assistant coach under Darby, who submitted his resignation this morning, as club authority appointed a three-member technical committee comprising Olympian Chuni Goswami and former internationals Prasanta Banerjee and Satyajit Chatterjee.
Stating that this was unacceptable, Darby said in his resignation letter, “this has created a lot of mental pressure on me which I can’t accept“.
Informing the appointment of Bernard, Mohun Bagan secretary Anjan Mitra said that whoever was appointed coach of the club, he would have to work under the committee.
Changing Coaches Is Not The Solution to Mohun Bagan’s Problems A good article by Somnath Sengupta
Steve Darby has come under the microscope following Mohun Bagan’s disappointing exit from the Federation Cup. Kolkata football fans are infamous for their lack of patience and some sections of the press have even gone to the extent of calling for his head.
It looks like there is unnecessary interference from the club officials. It will be difficult for any coach to perform his duties under these circumstances.
By the time Bernad resigns or is removed I can prepare Maggie Noodles <!-- s:confusion-scratchheadyellow: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/confusion/scratchheadyellow.gif" alt=":confusion-scratchheadyellow:" title="Yellow Scratching Head" /><!-- s:confusion-scratchheadyellow: -->
Bernard is appointed as interim coach of mb for 2-7 days .....till the appointment of permanent coach......now this is limit of unprofessionalism.... why does any team need an interim coach for such a short time????rather than that they would have left the job vacant till that time, then that would been better.....
wake up club officials wake up!!!!!jaaago re <!-- s:angry-argument: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/angry/argument.gif" alt=":angry-argument:" title="Argument" /><!-- s:angry-argument: -->

maybe they want to create a record by changing coaches frequently. I will suggest that the MB officials themselves should resign on moral grounds for hurting the reputation of the club.
