Sanjoy sen was the best thing to have happened to EB for the past 3 seasons when MB had a settled and a mega squad. A more competent coach would have delivered 4-5 trophies making it even more awkward for EB officials
SS did not appoint himself as the Mohun Bagan coach, if he was at fault especially in match reading & tactics....which I believe is a fact resulting in Mohun Bagan losing 3 All India trophies in last 2 seasons...then those who retained him should be questioned & blamed. But now he is the standing coach of Mohun Bagan & the behaviour of some opposition fans just can't be appreciated.
When the so called "real fans" doesn't have the balls to put pressure on the coach & the club mgmt(forcing him to resign ala Morgan), for a change I would laud the effort of opposition fans - for different reasons though!
EAST BENGAL APPROACH TWO FOREIGN STRIKERS AFTER ALVITO D'CUNHA OVERSEES SCOUTING AT LEEDS
I-League club East Bengal have opened talks with two foreign strikers after former India international Alvito D'Cunha shortlisted them in a trial in Leeds, sources in the know of developments have informed Goal.
Alvito, a former India international who had a long stint at the Kolkata club, has been part of the player recruitment process for the last few years and had travelled to England earlier this week to scout strikers for the Red and Golds. Former India international Tushar Rakshit was also supposed to accompany him but had to stay back due to issues in getting visa.
Lutel James, a volunteer coach at the Chapeltown Football Youth Development Centre, who is a well-known footballing figure in the region, had arranged for the trials, which was attended by almost 50 free agents who have played in different tiers of the English league structure in the past. At the end, the Kolkata club has decided to open talks with two players, one of them being a former Hull City U-18 forward.
The outfit, which has appointed I-League winner Khalid Jamil as its head coach this summer, will be starting its pre-season practice on Monday morning at the club ground. The club has already roped in Syrian midfielder Mahmoud Al Amna and Trinidadian defender Carlyle Mitchell other than retaining striker Willis Plaza for another season. Plaza, however, will not be available for the next fortnight having made it to the Trinidad & Tobago squad for their upcoming friendly against Ecuador.
East Bengal have won the last eight editions of the Calcutta Football League (CFL) and will be eager to extend their winning run further when they start the campaign in the first weekend of August.
This Chapeltown youth Development Center is a facility in inner city area of Leeds built on charity and community development. The main purpose is to keep underprivileged youth away from crime, gangs and to find some direction. https://uk.linkedin.com/in/lutel-james-cydc-0181333b I am not sure that a club of stature like East Bengal can find Professional players for I-League in this kind of setting. For Foreign players, one has to look for those proven players who are already playing in divisions/leagues-not amateurs. As East Bengal fans, one is expecting Foreign players to deliver results right away. Lets see.
They are gonna find Conference rejects there, useless piece of shit place to scout for players. Alvito is a crook and this time he will get beat up in Kolkata, we will ensure his deliverance from evil.
