Kolkata giants East Bengal have reached Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for their pre-season training on Thursday morning. The Red and Golds will be staying in Malaysia till October 22nd.
A 28-member squad has travelled from Kolkata under the tutelage of Spanish Alejandro Menendez. The team will train at Kuala Lumpur’s MSN Sports Complex.
India international Salam Ranjan Singh will join the team on October 14 after India’s international friendly against China on October 13.
East Bengal are scheduled to play their first pre-season friendly match against Malaysian Premier League side UiTM FC on October 7th.
The Kolkata club had a poor start to their 2018/19 season after finishing third in Calcutta Football League (CFL).
After CFL 2018, technical director Subhash Bhowmick, who was in charge of the team in the initial stage, resigned from his post and former Real Madrid Castilla manager Alejandro Menendez took charge.
