@Soccerlover AIFF isn't on any backfoot, they can't be! They will always cite MLS and A-League. Can FIFA change those systems? Nope and neither do they want to! The I-League clubs should have been to CAS by now, but they have been pleading with Fifa, the same shambolic corrupt organisation which approved ISL in the first place.
The EB club officials are a curse and the sooner they leave their mortal bodies the better it is because it seems there is no other way to get rid of them. I can abuse them all I want, but they aren't really going away and that's a fact. All EB fans have to live with that.
As I said before, for a member based club like East Bengal, second division isn't a viable option. We will go the Mohammedan way if we start playing second division. Quess made a shit team on our centenary year, couldn't even hold on to the core players of last season. They don't understand football, without passion the money only runs you so much. You can't treat football as pure business, doesn't really work out that way. You think the Qataris are making any money out of Man City or much less with Melbourne City? Given how much money they have already pumped in and continue to do so!! The business of football is like F1, you need very deep pockets and a passion for glory, unfortunately Quess has neither.
EB should be grateful to Quess that they brought Alejandro onboard, who in turn brought the Spanish players. For a change a good coach was given responsibility to form team, and a fine team it was. So it cannot be said that Quess was in it for the 'business' part only. It is during this second season they are going slow, perhaps because of the inner turmoil brewing from day one. I think they were gauging the situation.
Now that the 'cut money gang' has derailed the train, things would be back to the normal gutter level. Instead of negotiating with FSDL from a strong position, they will now beg to be in ISL. Also, if anyone thinks Nitu & co would get bigger sponsors and let them enter ISL, he/ she must be living in a state of major self denial. Anyone sinking big money into the club would seek control, which Nitu & co are not ready to part with (same situation of MB and Tutu). So EB would continue to play in IL with medium sponsors and shout continuously (falsely, to placate the fans) to let them play in ISL.
