An East Bengal official on Sunday said the club's new financial tie-up with an investor has reached an advanced stage with the help of the West Bengal government, brightening their hopes of joining the Indian Super League (ISL).
Election is coming !! However, Odisha FC type model won't work in Bengal. If state gov sponsors EB they will lose votes of MB supporters. Stat: Bangals are approx 33.33% of the population.
Our brief on the current scenario:- Well we have been very positive regarding East Bengal Club’s chances to participate in the upcoming Hero ISL and as you all know time and again we have expressed our views through various posts and teasers all throughout the last few months. On the other side, a handful of media houses and their so called ‘journalists’ have been trying to spread negativity all around and confuse people with various illogical articles and reports.
Coming to the main point now.. The club management had a proper planning regarding the announcements of the new investors and participation in the ISL. The initial blueprint was to announce a deal with a top Indian infrastructure based company on the 14th of April. Unfortunately the deal came to a hault due to the lockdown and pandemic situation prevalent around and they incurred a huge loss of around ₹3500 crores due to all this. The management had then started contacting with various companies and have tried day in and day out to strike a deal with the same. We are extremely thankful to our club officials who have fought against all odds and have brought the club to a stage where the announcement regarding the new investors is just a matter of a few days maybe. As per our sources, there will be one investor with co sponsors and all having Indian background ( we don't want to disclose the names as of now 🙂 ). We had earlier posted an update wherein we said that by the 20th of June everything would be clear and fine but then everything has a process and we have to give time to a particular thing to mature. We are very firm to our point and amidst all negativity around we are extremely hopeful of our participation in the elite league this season. We request all our followers and East Bengal fans to stay away from the negativity around being spread every morning and stay positive as we reckon things are being expedited now and things would be transparent by the end of this month.
Now as we brief our views, if people find us biased towards our club officials then you can go ahead with your thinking. Yes we are biased! We at Lal Holud Aikya have always been very clear regarding our standpoint and we will always appreciate anyone who does proper things for the club. The reason why we are putting in our club officials pictures is to thank them for all they have been doing for the past few months.
Ranjit Bajaj, former owner of Minerva Punjab FC, and perennial thorn in the AIFF’s flesh, has thrown his hat in the ring for East Bengal’s ownership. Bajaj said he has approached Quess and offered to buy out their 70 percent share in the club and therefore assuming ownership of all sporting rights.
Actually EB might have a chance to play in ISL with him at helm. Bajaj have this peculiar specialty to bring people to bargain terms so anything can happen.
