Yes Samyajit, similar point I tried to raise in my previous post in this thread. The new management should have respected club's commitments and investments. I simply cannot justify discarding of players such as Tondomba, Rohlupuia, Brandon, Vineeth, Anil Chavan and Milan Singh. Each of the players that I've just named can actually fit perfectly into Robbie Fowler's tactics and strategies pretty well. I heard, these names were included, when the technical committee ( btw, this committee had india legends, manoranjan bhattacharya, alvi, tarun dey etc) handed over 20 players' list. However the new management didn't respect their opinion and certainly got brainwashed by the market agents. It's a sad scenario, but I know the new management and it's executives are extremely professional and I'm confident they will surely learn their lesson from this mistake but unfortunately in a hard way.
Good thing is though that they aren't releasing most of these guys, they will start training in Kolkata and some maybe called up. Otherwise, this would have been suicide.
There's a trick this season for ISL. You cannot register any of your indian reserve players in the middle of the season. So, it ain't work anyway. Most of the current players have option to sign contract with other clubs as free players and also some got released. Very few are being loaned out while absolute marginal number of players have agreed to serve the reserve team. And the big problem is, most probably there won't be any Calcutta league/IFA shield/Durand competition happening this season. So what would these reserve players do for the entire season! Given the fact that there isn't any reserve league, these reserve players are just gonna waste one valuable year of their footballing career, that's something players are not going to accept in any given circumstance.
