stadium tours should be conducted in indian stadiums. clubs can make a revenue out of it.
Clubs do not own stadiums in india. In foreign countries where clubs own stadius, they make money by utilising resources by leasing them for entertainment and hospitality purposes.
Mr Bindra of Punjab cricket association had this business acumen. Mohali stadium had a clubhouse, bar, lawns and it became a venue for Big Fat Punjabi Weddings.
Delhi JLN Stadium was a regular part of Delhi Govt Tourism bus tours. Now I am not sure.
Ownership is an issue in india. Not sure whether state govt will allow clubs to peranently lease some areas for museums / restaurants and earn money
Your last sentence has merit. State Govt should lease a section to the clubs and strat conducting tours. Every part will benefit.
Few years ago I visited Liverpool. There was a museum which was a part of redeveloped dockyard. Many exhibitions take plae there like Beatles gallery. There was also a Imax type sreen with cinematic experience for Liverpool and Everton. Both had separate shows along with clubs memorablia gallery
Something like that can be built at Salt Lake stadium or somewhere in Maidan and make it a permanent feature of all calcutta city tour buses.
In a move that has surely broken the glass ceiling in Indian football, Emami East Bengal on Tuesday named a lady as the chief executive officer of its football team.
“This is to inform you that Emami East Bengal FC Pvt Ltd has appointed Ms. Namrata Parekh as its CEO,” the newly-formed company said in a brief statement.
Although East Bengal and Mohun Bagan have opened door to women administrators in their executive council in the past, no woman has ever been given a leadership role in managing a football team on the Maidan.
Valanka Alemao, hailing from the family which owns Churchill Brothers, has served the Goan club as its CEO. But the 33-year-old Parekh will be the first and only woman CEO of a football team participating in the Indian Super League.
This may be Parekh’s maiden foray into football administration, but she is not unfamiliar with sports management. She is one of the co-founders of a sport marketing and consulting agency and its clients include India cricket coach Rahul Dravid, tennis star Rohan Bopanna, gymnast Dipa Karmakar as well as a few football clubs in India.
Although currently working out of Bhubaneswar and Mumbai, Parekh also has strong roots in football in Bengal, having been brought up in her maternal uncle’s house in south Kolkata.
East Bengal main squad defeated U20 NT 2-0 in a friendly match yesterday at AIFF Center of Excellence in Kolkata. Sumit Passi and Cleiton Silva scored.
Former Indian NT goalkeeper who had also played for East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Salgaocar, Sangram Mukherjee, is the new GK coach of East Bengal Reserve squad.
East Bengal beat Real Kashmir FC 3 - 0 at a friendly game yesterday at AIFF Center of Excellence in Kolkata. Cleiton Silva, Sumeet Passi and Sovik Chakraborty scored for the Kolkata giants.
