It will be both United Sikkim and Royal Wahingdoh.
Sikkim has had a proper pre-season. They won a cup and have gotten a lot of exposure for there play and if rumors are to be believed then they have finally got rid of there mentally bad players like that Irish guy and also I heard on fb that Sushil Singh was a bad influence and that is what led to his departure. So they are in my opinion sure 1st place in the league.
Of course though Royal Wahingdoh are the only team who can get past United Sikkim and take first. They will have home advantage in the final round becuase the AIFF allowed that only for the final round. That 20,000-30,000 people attmosphere should help them like it did for Shillong Lajong FC last season and this season.
Eagles FC will go up in 2013 becuase they have a good combo of players and foreigners but the players dont have that extra umph to make it to the I-League. Also I think that would be good if they dont make it this season. They should aim to get promoted in the 2013 I-League 2nd Division by holding on to the players who played in the 2012 2nd Division so they have players with expirence. Take off the bad players and bring in some expirence from the I-League (I would suggest some 30 year olds who currently play in I-League becuase they are past there prime and would do well in a top 2nd Division team. Also they need to work on marketing, they are planning on making a new stadium yet if they get promoted this season they cant make a stadium before the 2012-13 I-League and they would have a problem getting players and paying rent on a stadium and that would be Kaloor which would cost to much money which would mean straight relegation. Eagles should plan for the new stadium and decide on posible stadiums to rent in the time being, they should also keep in mind that they would want to raise money so they can afford all of this. Also they should continue there youth camps and maybe in a years time start a youth team and sign the best players from the camps to that youth team becuase they wont have a lot of money and expirenced players so they can survive in the I-League along with stadium rent and money spent on the new stadium will cost them a lot of money so they will need to rely on youth for maybe a few years and a youth team with players from a youth camp is the way to make sure those youth players that come up do well in I-League.
KGF is a lot of work to do. We dont even know if the KGF area is a sustainable football place in the long term and also there players are from BEML and a bunch of youth players. They are heading in the right direction and I would love them to represent the Bangalore/KGF area. Hope they change there name to Bangalore KGF FC when they get promoted a few seasons from now becuase there stadium will probably be most likely Bangalore Football Stadium.
United Sikkim is clear favourites followed by Royal or Vasco
But Bengal teams esp. Aryans and Md. Sporting are dark horses, don't forget that they along with Goa clubs play against good oppositions in their local league

Please no more Goan and Bengali teams. We are already going to be most likely going to lose our ONLY Bangalore and Kerala clubs! I dont want to gain a 5th Goan or 5th Kolkatan team.

Well the thread is about who will make and not theoretical discussions abt who sud make it!!! <!-- s:think: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/eusa/think.gif" alt=":think:" title="Think" /><!-- s:think: --> <!-- s:handgestures-thumbup: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/handgestures/thumbup.gif" alt=":handgestures-thumbup:" title="Thumb Up" /><!-- s:handgestures-thumbup: -->

I think it will be USFC and Techno Aryans for sure. USFC coz of the exact reasons arsenalfan mentioned and Techno Aryan coz they are serious about it. Royal Wahingdoh might not be the same thing they were last time. They hardly made news since then
Though i think royal and usfc are the leading favourites,still i guess one should wait for the time of first leg to complete for us to give a much better prediction....if you guys remember we never believed a unknown team like royal to top their group in last season,so we do can get some new challenger in any team may be eagles or even some least favourite NE team, as our 2nd div is yet to get the stability for us to predict the favourite.

And Bengal has 3 teams in I League, not 4
umm, ya, ummm... Pailan Arrows, East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Prayag United
I count that as 4. Sure not all Kolkata but what I meant was West Bengal. I dont know how many times I will say this but we are 28 states + Delhi. Having 5 of our 14 teams in 1 state or 10 teams out of our 14 in 2 states (specially sense both of them are small in land size) would force any businessman or sponsor away from our league. I bet there are many Indian businessmen wanting to spend on football because football is such a profitable sport and it is so untapped right now in India but what is stopping them is the All India Football Federation's stupidness which is allowing many teams from 2 states to join our top league. There must be order. 2 teams only in these two states and that is it!
Right now the AIFF needs to rethink how they allow teams into the I-League. Promotion/Relegation does not work. Look at the 2009-10 season. Sporting Goa (Team that was willing to market itself) and Shillong Lajong FC (30,000 per game) were relegated and ONGC FC and HAL SC are promoted. Both clubs did shit. One of them relegated themselves and the other is on the verge of colaspe. They were not ready for the move up to I-League. We need expansion in which you dont get promoted just on field performence but on finance and marketing and the team must be from an area which has no team or if they are not and still want to join they must be willing to relocate. Also if a team does horrible marketing and financially yet still ends up in say 8th place (Air India) they should be forced relegated and replaced with a team willing (and there are) to follow what the AIFF wants.
Won't count Pailan arrows as a Bengal (or Kolkata) club...its a developmental squad and has no regional affiliations...If they won I League, it won't be truimph for Bengal football
