Germany hasnt lost its supremacy at all..they won the olympic gold and then sent a developmental squad here like they do everytime in champions trophy..we were let down by our terrible strikers...today Chandi, sunil,Yuvraj all were equally pathetic..sunil in particular..anywys team was tiredby now and we wus see them come better prepared for the Asian champions trophy..expext us to defend that title now

we played many less fit players in form of sardara singh, sunil, manpreet  which is the reason why we were not able to show the same intensity which was at disposal of start of the tournament

the main worry from this thing is the lack of bench strength we are facing for our national team.... hopefully HIL provides us with some exciting talents who could challenge the elites of the country

I wonder why Germany wud send dev squad in Champuons Trophy. Its like sending U18 squad in Cricket world cup. Also Asian champs trophy is useless. Asian hockey is behind Europeans by huge margin

In hockey, only two/three tournaments are given the  utmost importance world cup, olympics and continental championship
for australia as they dont have competitive continent they replace it with champions trophy

champions trophy is more about showing that they belong to the elite teams than any other thing

Germany after winning a major championship always sends devlopment squads to big tournaments to prepare their bench..teams world over do it..even India sent u-23 team to SAFF and u-19 to SAG

even in recent u-19 asia cup which was qualifier for u-19 WC which will be hosted by india, so we had direct entry for the tournament

so we send our u-19 with most of players around age of 17 to give exposure to future u-19's

so not a bad way to create a strong bench i feel...

I do not agree with that. Champions trophy has always been one of the most prestigious tournaments in world hockey; at par with FIH World Cup

champions trophy is the third biggest tournament for hockey after world cup and Olympics ..........and the thing is tht Germany and britain sent a developmental side ,,and even some of our boys are under 20 so we have to wait to c d development of these players in next 2 to 3 years ...
and we have to work on our trapping and passing ...we have some really gud individual players but they are not able to combine well against a strong opposition ......look at s v sunil he got some speed  and skill but never been tht influential
