@debarghya89: The last time two good Asian players played in India were probably Bilal Najjarin and Akram Moghrabi in their stint for Churchill Brothers in 2012-2013 (Moghrabi was a shade of his former self when he played for MB in 2018)
Two players who were heavily linked to East Bengal last season and who would be good options IMO if the club is looking to sign some Asian player this year are Abou Bakr Al-Mel (Lebanon) and Islam Batran (Palestine)...I guess it is these sort of players that we need in the club, not some aging stars/former World Cuppers who would fail to deliver...Both @gaffertape and @ArsenalFan700 have told that there are many players in the Latin American countries and Middle East who come cheap and who could provide stellar service to the clubs. However, both these players are not free agents (Batran could be free in August)
Can someone explain how the salary of a football player can be estimated from the market value or whether it can be done at all?
I am sure that our IFN encyclopedia @munna219777, our IFN statistician @sam or some other member would be able to throw some light on this matter
It is a matter of regret that our IFN football encyclopedias @gaffertape and @ArsenalFan700 are no longer much active nowadays on the forum, though i have seen that they cannot resist the sneak pic now and then
Although Salary of player is something that is simply impossible to predict accurately (similar to the highest bidding price in an auction, there can be guesses but no exact prediction) I would like to mention the MERC formula here. Take a look.
