Bengal clubs know that with the kind of fan following they have..AIFF will never ban them....All these report of lack of professionalism only provoke negative response from Bengal clubs (Mostly)...Fans instead of pressuring the club, justifies them.
The officials are worthless goons, unless fans take action on them nothing will happen.
Can you imagine all these buffoon E.B officials were busy in election instead of concentrating on this ?? <!-- s:evil: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_evil.gif" alt="" title="Evil or Very Mad" /><!-- s:evil: -->
Beirut: Dempo Sports Club coach Armando Colaco is worried the pressure of defending their I-League title and making a mark in the AFC Cup is beginning to take a toll on his team.
Dempo are six points adrift of domestic league leaders Salgaocar Sports Club but with the return of their players from national duty, are now on a seven-match winning streak that also includes a win over Al Tilal at home in the opening match of the AFC Cup.
“It’s a demanding schedule. This travel and pressure of winning all the time is not doing the team any good,” said Colaco.
After their opening-match triumph in the AFC Cup, Dempo are looking to strengthen their position in Group A but know their next clash against Al Ansar at the Sports City Stadium in Beirut on Tuesday will not be easy.
“Lebanon is a difficult venue. We have played there in the past and have always encountered stiff opposition,” said Colaco.
Colaco’s side have four injured players traveling to Beirut and he was still unsure whether all four, or any of them, would be available for the Al Ansar clash.
“We’ve got some extra players here just to make sure that we have enough in reserve. I’ve seen a little bit of Al Ansar and they looked really strong,” he added.
“They lost their opening match 3-0 but I don’t discount them. In fact they matched their rivals, Nasaf of Uzbekistan, in the first half an hour but were unlucky to concede a late goal that changed the complexion of the match.
“In the second period a red card killed the game.
“Al Ansar’s defeat in the first match makes them dangerous opponents. They will be out to make amends for the loss and will come hard at us. We are ready for the battle.”
Al Ansar may have lost that opening match against but a domestic run that has seen them win four matches on the trot should hold them in good stead.
“It’s a must-win match for us or else we might have to say goodbye to the tournament. It’s a home match for us and we must take three points from this game,” said coach Jamal Taha, whose team beat Al Islah 3-2 in their previous game in the domestic league.
“I saw Dempo play against Al Sadd (in the AFC Champions League play-off) and have taken note of both their strong and weak points.
“Their strong point, obviously, is their foreign players who have been with them for a long time. I know this because I played Dempo three years ago and managed only a draw at home.
“I wouldn’t discuss the weak points but we have a plan in place to capitalise on them.
“We lost the first game in the tournament so the Dempo clash becomes crucial. It’s a crucial match for us and nothing less than full points will do.”
