The rationale is that the users who shy away from logging in will log in. And once they are logged in, they may as well go one step more and comment. Thus this will encourage active discussions. We would also have an idea about our regular vs irregular members
I am truly surprised how lightly racism is being taken. We certainly did not find @sujoy1976's comments funny. Racism is not funny. We would urge members to end the matter here. We do not want to ban people, but if someone asks for it, we cannot help. He was a repeat offender and we cannot be present all the time to delete his offensive/abusive/racist comments. Fun at the expense of someone is not funny.

One has to see the context - let me repeat , (and am sure , people who have always read his comments would agree with me). Firstly u wud agree that sujoy1976 doesn't hv a good footballing brain and doesn't hv much knowledge on what's happening around in the soccer world. At best, he is abreast of what's happening with the Kolkata clubs - that's abt it. Fighting against racism- especially in the world of sport(where at times the heart rules over ones' brains)is something which is extremely sensitive and must be dealt with all might. That cannot be compromised at any cost & all of us have to extremely careful and MUST RAISE AWARENESS abt it thru social networking sites. This is where, I guess admin have got it wrong. By banning a person, who I don't think hv any idea even on racisim(especially in sports), we hv actually scratched the surface of the problem instead of uprooting the problem itself by a) creating awareness, as to why this is a criminal offence; and b) we haven't counselled him properly. Hence, the outcome could be that he could again repeat the same offence elsewhere! So what have we done as member who advocates anti racism? I think, as responsible members,who love sports, we can do better and take constructive measures.
For all that matters, he may not even be aware of what rascism is actually about. Many Indians are guilty of unknowingly propagating racism. Like when somebody sees a NE person, he just says Nepali. Now what can we do about that. It will take a lot of doing to change the mentality of us Indians.
That is a wonderful thought. But the Admin team had warned him multiple times through PM or direct posts I believe. The fact is that the person who understand he is being racist can be stopped but the one who doesn't even realize that and thinks it is funny cannot be stopped. Anyway, in the context of this forum, the idea is to keep it clean and banning him perfectly fits the idea. We can do without some cheapness.
