This is the good thing about the Goa people. They are real football lovers who like to watch a good game rather than win every match by hook or by crook unlike Kolkata fans
Let's appreciate Goa crowd, but let's not criticize the others...Its a National forum after all <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

It was all Even Stevens, when Mohun Bagan hosted East Bengal in the mother of all Indian derbies as the much anticipated tie ended 1-1.
The stage is once again set for yet another highly pulsating encounter in the Round 21 of the I-League when East Bengal will put all their money in the return leg and could give their title hunt the much needed kick with a win against their traditional rival Mohun Bagan.
It was all cheers for East Bengal as they started their season with back-to-back title, with successfully defending Federation cup title and winning Calcutta Premier League and more over dream start to the I-League.
Off late, East Bengal have recovered from their scrappy performances and their 3-0 win against struggling Air India can give them the much asked confidence, while Mohun Bagan who recently finished as runners-up in the IFA Shield started on quiet note as they shared points with Mumbai FC in the last tie.
Things change and so as the fortune as the Kolkata derby still remains an apple of their fans eye. East Bengal will miss two key players Sushanth Mathew and their shot-stoppers Sandip Nandy due to double booking, but the good news is that their in-form striker, Tolgay Ozbey who will carry all the attraction after picking up a hat-trick in the last match.
Three points will do wonder for the Red & Golds in their title chase as they found themselves at third place with 38 points, only two points behind second placed Churchill Brothers and five points from the league toppers Salgaocar SC.
Mohun Bagan will need to put everything together to get a fair result in their basket and it will require nothing less than special effort from the Mariners.
Jose Ramirez Barreto might start for the Green and Maroons, though he still isn’t full fit. They are lying at the 6th place with 26 points.
Though East Bengal chief, Trevor Morgan will go all out from the outset in search of three valuable points, Subhash Bhowmick on the other hand will be looking to adopt defensive measures in order to measure their opponent in the initial stage.
The match will kick off at IST 1700 hrs at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata.
Its true that if MB wins today than the chances of any of these teams Salgaoncar, Churchill & Dempos winning the i league increases.Personally I'll be happy if any of the Goan team wins the i league. But i wish EastBengal wins today so the others does not take it lightly & only the true champion team wins the i league.
