Today I got to watch the Indian Arrows team for the first time at Gurgaon,their home game..the ground surprisingly was in pretty good condition with some very nice big green patches!!..the match started with exactly 45 spectators and by the end reached 150 odd..the team dfntly needs to have its matches at ambedkar stadium!!..but the biggest spectator sitting right in front of me was Bob Houghton!..as soon as the players warmed up and while going to the dressing room spotted bob sitting,they all rushed to him to shake hands with him..bob obliged them all and even gave a small pep talk before the game..coming to the game, the first half was pretty boring with both teams trying to gauge each other and arrows playing long ballz..though I must say it seemed to suit their style of play and they were causing PFC trouble thanks to that..still PFC had the bettr chances in the half but Jagroop came up with two super saves..the game became pretty aggressive in the 2nd half with PFC desperate for the points but soon the arrows took over and started complete domination which was really surprising considering the quality of the opposition..pfc had to rely only on counters and edmar blew a pretty good one at that..a quick analysis of each arrows player in today’s game:
Jagroop: was superb today..did not make any mistakes at all.made good saves..cant compare him with gurpreet coz i havnt seen gurpreet play
Inderpreet: Best defender of the day..hardly put a foot wrong.with his big physique he easily outmuscled,outheaded and outpaced Mandjou Keita and edmar!!..my MOM
Deepak devrani: seemed to be in a bit of discomfort maybe due to some injury but played well in patches..made 2-3 mistakes also but recovered in time..Marked edmar for most of the match..a quality replacement for Raju( I missed seeing him today )
Abhishek Das: This small fellow has pretty good pace and is amazing in arial balls despite his size.however got caught out a few times and is the real culprit of playing long ballz in the entire defence.
Lalrozama Fanai: Technically very good and pacy left back..made a few overlapping runs and had a good game when defending against edmar.
Shilton: Disapointed with his game today..couldnt get involved in the first half.. made a few good moves in 2nd half.has a good built and is technically good.
Jewel: disapointing first half for him but a great 2nd half performnce got him MOM ..showed glimpses of his talent..he can be a real jewel in our midfield in future.
Jibon: He has good pace and understanding but his crosses need to have better quality
Lalrindika: The best winger in the first half..showed amazing skills and ball control.his corners and dead balls had really gud quality..surprisingly being a left footer he was playing as right winger..seemed to have run out of steam towards the last 15 mins
Jeje: The real star of the team and it showed..superb skills and passing quality..due to his stature he was heavily marked by atleast 2 defenders always..created good openings for his team out of nothing..almost scored but denied by the great subrata
Manandeep: Started the gme with great pace and aggression but I think overdid it and got hurt so had to be replaced..was winning the areial balls before..strong lad with good height.
Jagtar: Saw him for the first time today..replaced manan..a tall striker but at times looks like the most lethargic player of the team and reminded me of Munaf Patel <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P --> to be honest did not seem capable of scoring but was a good team player..had good positioning and even showed a few tricks..complemented jeje well and had a good header that came close to scoring
Over all I think arrows did well against a quality opposition who had beaten then 3-0 earlier..it now seems that the arrows wud be hard to beat for any team with the kind of confidence that they are showing on the field..

According to ppl present Bob has been attending regularly since the afc challenge cup..he even attended matches of salgaocar and CB..he must be having something on his mind..btw subrata played well and made a fantastic save in the end to deny jeje..however he shouts too many instructions and irritates his own players <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> this arrows team seemed very comfortable playing in the air and at times was easily getting the better of bigger pune players which was surprising..pune fc recorded the game and would be out with the highlights soon..
