Dont underestimate them. The UAE group was a bit tougher considering it was Yemen and Kuwait. We had Uzbekistan and that was it. Bahrain provided the next challenge but not much.
That Afghan team had overage players from Europe that's the reason they performed well and actually qualified for the main tournament untill AFC docked off their points.
So many posters on this board are scared of just about any other team. You will never win a match if you already think you will lose before it is played. There is no doubt that India can beat UAE, Uzbekistan, China or Syria if the boys play well, especially at the youth level where results can vary even more. Every group is going to be tough and the top 2 spots in our group are very achievable.

Am not scared..am stating the facts after some research..we still need to see how the team performs in the friendlies

Mate we lost 9-0 to Uzbekistan! What do you expect us to think. We can beat Syria but UAE and China are no push overs.
Stamina will come into play big time here because these kids are young, they will be fast and full of energy. At the end of the day if our kids have the stamina to survive the 90+ minutes of football, then they can beat any team. Otherwise they can loose to any team. Technically we are as good as a lot of these teams but physically the differences are greater.
My personal opinion is uae is slightly at a better level than us only becuasevthey have a headbstart of at least at least decade in youth development and setup. we have closed the gap but i feel uae will have more skilled more technical players .it must be also referred that uae will have more wealth of information having played and been through in Asian youth competitions as compared to India
however a lot will depend also on the Indian match tactics and the coaches reading of the game , his player capabilities and even substitutions ..fitness and tactics will be deciding factors...all factors falling in place we can.surely go through .Uzbekistan is a known foe while China is unkown and will be a tough game..however lets not just give our opposition undue credit ..hopefully wim n rob have also provided their input to d u16 team.

in terms of height this team is better than any of our national teams whether it is u19 or 22
