Exactly , player salaries needs to come down . It's not sustainable for owners to pay this much money for sub standard players .

As is with anything in the market cost is market driven depending on demand and availability. It will stay inflated. Increase demand by increasing teams in top tier, put salary cap on Indian players, reduce players foreigners in starting 11 but increase their salary cap or not keep at all for foreigners. 3 high quality foreigners costing more is always better than average ones we are having now and taking up places for Indian players.

I kind of feel bad that sometimes Stimac picks the squad like fans do from big teams. There are some people who deserve to be here like Jayesh Rane, Asish Rai, Sangwan or Debjit. Rane and Changte have good chemistry and would have continued in national team. People can think Debjit is washed up but he has the most number of saves and also the second highest save percentage behind Amrinder. He is almost back to his best and helped for the play off drive. Phurba has been decent at distribution but on high pressure situation he cannot deal with it and creates howler again and again. Even his saves fall straight to the player resulting in 4 rebound goals.
